Should we remove the Statue of Liberty

They are saving a pigeon stuck on the nose of the statue of liberty. When one of them ask the purpose of the statue of my liberty, the other responds that she is there to welcome immigrants. Now that the US is anti-immigration why not take her down? What if in a symbolic step they Recycle her and use the material to help build the fence. Am I out of line here?
